You will not want to miss our March BAM Meeting, where Melanie Griffin, Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), will join us to discuss the department’s role in the association industry.  Secretary Griffin, Esq. was appointed by Governor Ron Desantis to head the DBPR where she leads Florida’s regulation of 1.7 million licensees across more than 30 professions beginning January 1, 2022.  Her extensive Bio can be viewed at the following link – Melanie Griffin Biography.  With all the changes coming to association inspections, funding, and compliance, we look forward to a productive and informative presentation/conversation with Secretary Griffin.

What a great night.  Secretary Griffin and her staff presented wonderful information concerning the operation and oversight of the DBPR as it relates to condominiums and other regulated professions in the State of Florida.  An informational package supplied at the meeting is linked below.  Of special interest is page two, which discusses division-supplied educational opportunities.  With the possible expansion of board member educational requirements included in 2024 legislative changes, being able to find cost and informationally effective educational opportunities for your board members is going to become an increasingly important effort.
